About the Department

Invest India is the National Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. It hosts teams working with various government initiatives such as Make in India, Startup India, AGNii, and PMG.

You will be part of the Startup India team at Invest India, focused on the Startup India Initiative. As a senior team member in Startup India you would be expected to lead the Marketing, Branding, Content, and Media responsibilities You will be responsible for the development and implementation of cohesive marketing strategies that helps build a comprehensive narrative  of the initiative Startup India and enhance brand visibility, engage customers, and drive initiative and campaign growth. This role requires a visionary leader with expertise in building and communicating a story, branding, content creation, online marketing, and media strategies, both digital and traditional and building media properties and assets. The candidate should have a proven track record of successfully leading large-scale marketing campaigns and managing high-performing cross-functional teams. This role is expected to work across functions and deliver.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain a strong, consistent brand identity and narrative across all channels and oversee brand positioning, messaging, and visual identity to ensure alignment
  • Work with the larger Invest India Brand Communications team for execution and implementation of marketing, content and media-related efforts for Startup India initiative
  • Building a pro-active, agile and scalable social media strategy across all functions of Startup India.
  • Develop and execute integrated marketing strategies that align with Startup India’s overall objectives and vision
  • Manage brand health and perception through continuous monitoring and improvement efforts
  • Oversee the creation of high-quality content for various platforms including websites, blogs, social media, reports, brochures, videos and other marketing materials
  • Ensure content aligns with brand guidelines and resonates with target audiences, including vernacular messaging
  • Plan and execute media strategies across digital, social, and traditional channels to maximize reach and impact
  • Manage relationships with media partners, agencies, and influencers and monitor media trends and adapt strategies to stay ahead of the curve
  • Lead digital marketing initiatives including SEO, SEM, social media marketing, email campaigns, and online advertising
  • Utilize data analytics effectively to measure campaign performance and optimize marketing strategies, and share regular reports
  • Implement marketing automation tools to enhance efficiency & effectiveness and automate processes for smooth execution within the team
  • Develop and manage the marketing budget to ensure effective allocation and utilization of resources.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams within Startup India to design and execute high-impact marketing campaigns and communicate marketing strategies and results to stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Drafting and coordinating media communication and event-related work for verticals
  • Engage and regularly collaborate with central marketing agency and external partners to execute campaigns
  • Conduct market analysis regularly to identify opportunities, threats, and competitive positioning
  • Build, mentor and lead the marketing team in achieving set goals and KPIs and foster a collaborative and innovative work environment and provide ongoing training and development opportunities for team members

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field. A master’s degree is very much preferred and desired.
  • 15 - 25 years of practical experience in the Marketing field, with at least 4 years in a leadership role overseeing campaigns, branding, content, and media
  • Graphic Design & video editing skills are a big plus - Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere et al
  • Strong digital marketing expertise and familiarity with current tools and platforms and extensive knowledge of brand management, content creation, and media strategies
  • A strong network within the marketing and media industry will be preferred, especially within startup ecosystem
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to make informed decisions
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving capabilities
  • Proficiency in marketing automation tools, CRM software, and content management systems
