Invest India, along with the Department of Economic Affairs (DEA), organised a workshop on 'Supporting Startups in Infrastructure'. The workshop was chaired by Ajay Seth, Secretary, DEA, and opened by K Rajaraman, Additional Secretary (AS), DEA. The workshop included special addresses by Anil Agrawal, AS, DPIIT and Deepak Bagla, MD & CEO, Invest India. It was attended by 150+ officials from all infrastructure ministries, key Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), and startups.
The workshop was aimed at mainstreaming startups in infrastructure ministries and showcased experiences of key infrastructure ministries of sourcing solutions from startups with presentations from Kunal Kumar, JS, MoHUA, Roshan Popli, Chef Information Officer, Airports Authority of India and Dr Neeru Bhooshan, CEO, Pusa Krishi, followed by presentations from large private sector infrastructure companies, Tata Projects and GMR, and award-winning startups MinionLabs and Genrobotic Innovations.
The workshop also saw the launch of a report authored by Invest India on ‘Driving Innovations in Infrastructure: The Startup Way,’, which was launched by Ajay Seth, Secretary, DEA. The report highlights the current state of technology in infrastructure and highlights the increasing need for the adoption of innovation in this space. It also showcases several startups that have added value to the infrastructure sector and discusses the importance of collaboration between the government and private sectors to bring technology to the forefront of infrastructure development.
