Invest India, in partnership with the Ministry of Culture, organized a Stakeholder Consultation on the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains (AMASR) Act. It was presided by Govind Mohan, Secretary, Ministry of Culture and included representatives from Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), Railway Board, MoRTH, MoHUA, National Monuments Authority and Industry Associations. The AMASR Act was introduced to protect the monuments and heritage sites but over the period, it became a hurdle in numerous critical infrastructural projects. The stakeholder integration brought in the diverse proposals/suggestions from the stakeholders, required in the AMASR Act, to create a balance between heritage conservation and infrastructural development of the region.
