The Northeast desk at Invest India visited Agartala to conduct seven focused investment facilitation meetings (5 in-person meetings and two virtual conferences) between investors and relevant line departments to follow up on the "Destination Tripura" summit. The meetings resulted in fast-tracking processes, resolving immediate bottlenecks, and assisting in site selection.
One such facilitation session resulted in the shortlisting of land for a skills university in Sabroom, Tripura, for which an allotment letter has been sent for cabinet approval. The State cabinet also passed a bill to set up Dhamma Dipa, the first Buddhist University in India to be established and run by Buddhist people. The team also visited and documented the successful grounding of Basic Funds Financial Services Ltd (financial service provider), which the Chief Minister inaugurated.
Further, during the visit, the team was introduced to the new Special Secretary, Industries and Commerce. The Additional Secretary to Chief Minister met relevant line departments for strengthening engagements and conducted four site visits in total.
