Project Monitoring Group (PMG) is an institutional mechanism for expedited resolution of issues and milestone-based monitoring of projects with investments upwards of INR 500 Cr. PMG facilitates the organization of Review Meetings chaired by the Special Secretary/Joint Secretary, Department for Promotion of Investment and Internal Trade (DPIIT), and review meetings chaired by the Secretary (Coordination), Cabinet Secretariat.
Key Milestones
- Key Issue Resolution: 131 issues in 81 projects were resolved in projects critical to India’s growth trajectory including Ratlam-Mhow-Khandwa-Akola Gauge Conversion, Mumbai Urban Transport Project Phase-III, and Barh STPP Stage-I [3X660 MW] to name a few.
Review Meetings chaired by Secretary (Coordination), Cabinet Secretariat
Delhi Review: In this review, 24 projects with 19 issues worth INR 1,20,409 Cr were discussed. Important projects like Anand Vihar-Tilak Bridge 3rd and 4th line, the establishment of the Central Armed Police Forces Institute of Medical Sciences (CAPFIMS) at Maidangarhi, and the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System [RRTS] corridor was reviewed to facilitate prompt project completion.
Gujarat Review: In this review, 82 projects with 32 issues worth INR 4,78,529 Crores were discussed. Some of the important projects like AIIMS Rajkot, Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Project- 508 km and packages of Vadodara-Mumbai Expressway corridor were reviewed.
Punjab Review: In this review, 71 issues in 58 projects worth INR 2,24,408 Cr were discussed. Projects like the Bhanupalli-Bilaspur-Beri New Railway Line Project, Shahpur Kandi Dam Project, and packages of Delhi-Amritsar-Katra expressway were reviewed for resolution of critical issues delaying project progress.
Sikkim Review: In this review, 19 issues in 17 projects worth INR 1,33,736 Cr were discussed. Teesta-IV [520 MW], Comprehensive Scheme for Strengthening of Transmission and Distribution [T&D] Systems [CSST&DS] in Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim and packages of Construction of two-lane with paved shoulders for Singtam-Tarku-Ravangla-Legship-Gyalshing stretch among other important projects were reviewed to ensure timely project completion.
Mizoram Review: In this review, 07 issues in 17 projects worth INR 1,22,114 Cr were discussed. Projects like Bhairabi-Sarang new railway line and Northeast Gas Grid were discussed to avoid undue delays in targeted timelines for project commissioning.
Andhra Pradesh Review: In this review, 46 issues in 98 projects worth INR 3,44,454 Cr were discussed. Projects like Kakinada Srikakulam Natural Gas Pipeline Project, Guntur - Guntakal Doubling Project, and Ennore-Thiruvallur-Bengaluru-Puducherry-Nagapattinam-Madurai-Tuticorin Gas Pipeline were reviewed to facilitate strict adherence to project commissioning timelines.
West Bengal Review: In this review, 40 issues in 70 projects worth INR 2,27,094 Cr were discussed. Mega infrastructure projects like Joka-BBD Bag New Metro Project, Sonepur Bazari Expansion OCP (12 MTY), etc. were taken up for review to ensure expeditious issue resolution and avoid undue delays in project commissioning.
Tripura Review: In this review, 14 issues in 07 projects worth INR 1,05,780 Cr were discussed. The Agartala-Akhaura New Railway Line and Northeastern Region Power System Improvement Project [NERPSIP] were among some of the important projects taken up for review.
Manipur Review: In this review, 27 issues in 20 projects worth INR 1,25,793 Cr were reviewed in the presence of senior officials from the Ministry of Railways, Department of Sports, Department of Water Resources, River Development, & Ganga Rejuvenation to ensure timely issue resolution and project completion.
Nagaland Review: In this review, 03 issues in 09 projects worth INR 1,12,502 Cr were discussed.
Chhattisgarh Review: In this review, 38 issues in 42 projects worth INR 2,04,535 Cr were discussed.
Goa Review: In this review, 7 issues across 14 projects worth INR 99,078 Cr were discussed.
Daman and Diu Review: In this review, 5 issues across 6 projects worth INR 2,05,199 Cr were discussed.
