The Office of the Principal Scientific Advisor, with the approval of the Union Cabinet, has established the Empowered Technology Group (ETG). The ETG mandate is to proactively lay down, coordinate, and oversee national-level policies relating to:
- Procurement and induction of technologies
- Research and Development (R&D) in technologies that require large outlays in resources, both financial and human
- Render sound and timely advice for determining direction and trajectory of Government's R&D and Technology Development Programmes
The AGNIi Mission collaborated with the Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying (DAHD) to develop a technology evaluation framework for innovations in the livestock sector. A virtual roundtable was organized to review the framework & seek sector-specific inputs from experts.
The roundtable was chaired by Dr. Praveen Malik, Animal Husbandry Commissioner, DAHD. Senior experts such as Dr. DVR Prakash Rao – President, National Academy of Veterinary Science, Dr. Ashok Pande – Group Vice President, BAIF & Dr. R.K. Singh – Former Director, IVR were present among experts from academia, industries, governments & NGOs.
