- OBJECTIVE
- The Scheme aims to boost the income of Leather footwear manufacturing/repairing artisans by imparting the skill development training and providing modern and automated equipment.
- Make manufacturing of footwear/leather goods a respectable profession and expanding the local production capacity along with enhancing the quality of footwear/leather goods, thereby curbing imports.

- TYPE OF ASSISTANCE
- Under this scheme, two-month skill development training on designing and manufacturing of footwear would be given to the group of 10 artisans under SHGs at National institute/ at field by National institute / at any footwear manufacturing firm.
- In addition, to assist the trained SHGs, modern machines & tool kits would be distributed.

- SCHEME APPLICABLE FOR
- Artisans between 18 to 55 years of age.
- Preference would be given to the people trained in the related activity, people pursuing the similar activity, based on their education, profile & minimum of 50% to SCs/STs/Women candidates/BPL category.
