The Head of Media and Communications will lead our media and communication strategies to enhance our visibility and reputation on a global scale. This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive international media experience and a deep understanding of social media dynamics. The ideal candidate will be adept at creating compelling narratives, managing media relations and leveraging digital platforms to engage with diverse audiences.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Communication Planning:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive media and communication strategies to promote India as an attractive investment destination.
  • Align communication initiatives with Invest India's mission, goals and strategic priorities.

 

Media Relations:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with international and local media outlets, handling media inquiries and coordinating media briefings.
  • Secure positive media coverage in key markets.

 

Content Creation and Management:

  • Oversee the creation of high-quality content, including press releases, articles, reports, speeches and multimedia materials. Ensure consistency in messaging and branding across all communication channels.

 

Social Media Management:

  • Develop and execute a robust social media strategy to increase engagement and reach. Monitor social media trends and analytics to refine strategies and improve performance. Manage Invest India's social media accounts, ensuring timely and relevant content updates.

 

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support communication efforts.

 

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead and mentor the media and communications team, fostering a culture of creativity and excellence.
  • Manage budgets and resources efficiently.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in media and communications, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven international media experience and strong relationships with global media outlets.
  • Demonstrated expertise in social media strategy and digital communications.
  • Exceptional writing, editing and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience in the investment promotion or economic development sector is a plus.
