About the Department

Invest India is the National Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. It hosts teams working with various government initiatives such as Make in India, Startup India, AGNii, and PMG.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive strategies to attract investments from domestic and international Telecom equipment and Networking companies. Work closely with investors to understand their needs, address concerns, and facilitate a seamless investment process.
  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges in the Telecom sector. Stay abreast of the industry regulations and disruptions pertinent to these sectors. Utilize this information to devise targeted strategies for driving investments in this sector.
  • Proactively engage with major Telecom companies, industry associations, research institutions, and government agencies to foster collaboration and identify investment opportunities.
  • Collaborate with relevant government agencies to advocate for policies and reforms that enhance the growth and competitiveness of India's Telecom sector.
  • Identify training needs and develop programs to enhance the team's capabilities in driving investments.

Qualifications

  •  A combination of a bachelor’s degree in engineering and an MBA is preferred.
  • Should possess 4-5 years of professional experience (exposure to the Telecom industry will be preferred). The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successful investment promotion and business development. Experience in a client-facing role at a consulting firm, development agency, investment bank, investment promotion agency, or global corporation within the Telecom sector is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of global Telecom trends, emerging technologies, and investor preferences.
  • Strong commitment to accuracy and professionalism.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at various levels.
  • Ability to work amid strict deadlines and on multiple projects.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for domestic and international engagements, industry events, and investor meetings.
