About the Department

Invest India is the National Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. It hosts teams working with various government initiatives such as Make in India, Startup India, AGNii, and PMG.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management and Execution: Lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of the Preserving Arts project activities. Coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure project milestones are achieved on time. Maintain records of awardees within the database for future reporting and tracking needs. Also, explore external scholarship opportunities.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Forge strong relationships with government bodies, local artisans, NGOs, and international partners to drive project objectives. Act as a liaison between the government and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth operations.
  • Market Promotion: Develop and execute strategies for promoting traditional Indian arts (ODOP) in international markets. This includes identifying market opportunities, participating in trade fairs, and leveraging digital media.
  • Research and Development: Conduct comprehensive research on traditional arts, including their history, current status, and potential for commercialization. Develop initiatives to innovate while preserving the authenticity of the arts.
  • Capacity Building: Organize workshops, training programs, and awareness campaigns for artisans to enhance their skills and knowledge about market demands, quality standards, and export procedures.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain meticulous records of project activities, progress reports, and impact assessments. Ensure timely communication of insights and outcomes to senior management and relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in arts, history, social sciences, business management, or related fields. 
  • A minimum of 4-6 years of experience in project management, preferably with experience working with the government in the arts, culture and crafts sector.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a results-oriented approach. 
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Knowledge of the traditional arts and crafts sector in India, including an understanding of the challenges and opportunities for promoting these arts internationally.
  • Experience in market analysis, promotion strategies, and digital marketing.
  • Proficiency in local languages is desirable to interact effectively with artisans and local stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating leadership and initiative.
