The agency serves as the first point of contact for investors exploring India as a business destination. Invest India is responsible for numerous key government initiatives including Startup India, AGNIi, One District One Product, Project Monitoring Group, and Waste to Wealth among others

 

About Startup India: 

Startup India is a flagship initiative of the Government of India intended to catalyze startup culture and build a strong and inclusive ecosystem for innovation and entrepreneurship in India. Since the launch of the initiative on 16th January 2016, Startup India has rolled out several programs with the objective of supporting entrepreneurs and transforming India into a country of job creators instead of job seekers. 

Role Summary:

The Senior Manager in the Marketing Team will lead the strategic planning, execution, and evaluation of marketing initiatives for the Startup India program. The individual will be responsible for high-impact campaigns, multi-stakeholder engagement, and strengthening the program's brand positioning. This role requires a visionary leader who can drive innovation, ensure quality delivery, and align efforts with national priorities for fostering the startup ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

The Candidate is expected to the following:

  • Strategic Planning and Leadership:

  • Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive marketing strategies for Startup India initiatives, events, and programs.

  • Align marketing efforts with organizational goals to amplify national and global visibility.

  • Identify new marketing opportunities and partnerships to drive outreach and program scalability.

  • Digital and Campaign Management:

  • Oversee all digital marketing initiatives, including SEO, SEM, email marketing, and social media campaigns.

  • Design and execute integrated campaigns for branding and engagement.

  • Analyze campaign performance metrics and optimize future strategies for maximum impact.

  • Stakeholder Engagement & Vendor Management

  • Cultivate relationships with startups, corporates, investors, media, and government stakeholders to promote Startup India.

  • Represent the organization at regional and global forums, fostering partnerships and collaborations.

  • Collaborate with vendors and creative agencies to ensure high-quality deliverables.

  • Event Marketing and Management:

  • Spearhead marketing efforts for flagship events, including global summits, hackathons, and workshops.

  • Ensure branding consistency and impactful storytelling across all event communication materials.

  • Brand Development and Content Strategy:

  • Strengthen the Startup India brand through innovative content, storytelling, and thought leadership.

  • Develop marketing collateral such as presentations, promotional videos, and reports.

  • Oversee the creation and curation of engaging content for digital platforms, blogs, and newsletters.

  • Research and Insights:

  • Leverage data analytics to measure campaign effectiveness and enhance decision-making.

  • Team Management and Development:

  • Mentor and manage a team of marketing professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.

  • Encourage cross-functional collaboration and knowledge sharing to drive results.

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Master’s degree (MBA in Marketing/Communications) preferred.

  • 6+ years of relevant experience in marketing, with a preference for candidates from startup ecosystems, government programs, or corporate environments.

  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and content management systems.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Hands-on experience with digital marketing platforms (e.g., Google Ads, Facebook Ads, LinkedIn).

  • Creative thinking and ability to develop innovative marketing strategies.

  • Knowledge of graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite) is a plus.

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret marketing data.
