About the Department
Invest India is the National Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. It hosts teams working with various government initiatives such as Make in India, Startup India, AGNii, and PMG.
The role is to manage the procurement processes for the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. This role involves understanding financial approvals and formats, coordinating with suppliers, and adhering to procurement policies to support the ODOP initiative effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Procurement Process Management: Oversee the end-to-end procurement process, from identifying needs to negotiating contracts and ensuring timely delivery.
- Financial Approvals: Understand and manage financial approval processes, ensuring all procurement activities are compliant with organizational policies and procedures.
- Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers and vendors, maintaining strong relationships to ensure reliable and cost-effective sourcing.
- Documentation and Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities are well-documented and comply with organizational policies.
- Market Research: Conduct market research to identify new suppliers, products, and trends that could benefit the ODOP initiative.
- Timely Procurement: Ensure the timely acquisition of goods and services to support the ODOP initiative without delays.
- Compliance: Maintain compliance with all procurement policies and regulations, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Stakeholder Management: Ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders, including producers, suppliers, and government authorities.
- Negotiation Skills: Excellent negotiation skills to secure favourable terms with suppliers and vendors.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to assess supplier capabilities, market conditions, and procurement strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional with 4-6 years of experience in procurement, preferably in a managerial role, with a track record of managing successful procurement processes.
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a results-oriented approach to procurement strategies.
- Experience working with MSMEs is a plus.
