About the Department

Invest India is the National Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency of the Government of India, under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. The agency serves as the first point of contact for investors exploring India as a business destination. Invest India is responsible for numerous key government initiatives including Startup India, AGNIi, One District One Product, Project Monitoring Group, and Waste to Wealth among others.  

 

Job Summary:

The Global partnerships forms an important pillar in the core working of Startup India. The efforts are aimed at identifying, developing, and managing strategic partnerships for global market expansion of Indian startups with other organizations globally. The role requires building strong relationships and a deep understanding of the startup ecosystem of different markets. The ideal candidate should have experience in strategic planning, market expansion strategy, partnership development, and managing cross-functional projects. 

Key Responsibilities

•    Conduct detailed market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscapes within the startup ecosystem
•    Conceptualise and end-to-end execution of structured programs with focused markets to support and handhold the startups with different countries 
•    Evaluate potential partnership opportunities, including financial and strategic fit
•    Identify, establish, and foster relationships with Indian missions abroad, startups, incubators, accelerators, business chambers and other relevant entities
•    Manage ongoing partnerships under the Startup Bridges, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and maximizing value 
•    Represent Startup India at industry events, conferences, and networking activities to promote engagement with startups and partners
•    Stakeholder management with the Ministry and senior officials for smooth logistics and delivery of the project
•    Track and report on the performance of strategic partnerships, using metrics and KPIs to measure success of programs through customised dashboards
•    Identify areas for improvement and make and implement recommendations to enhance partnership effectiveness
•    Prepare briefing dockets, presentations and reports for senior management and other stakeholders
•    Provide support for other projects at Startup India as needed    

Qualifications

•    Bachelor's degree or Master’s degree (Public Policy or Development Studies / Economics or Management Sciences / Engineering from Premier Institute / International Relations or MBA will be preferred) 
•    At least 2 years of work experience in Foreign Missions,  Consulting, Investment Banking, Partnerships, Strategic Planning or International Relations
•    Strong analytical skills to comprehend and present data 
•    Strategic thinking abilities with excellent research and presentation skills
•    Excellent communication and negotiation skills with ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse set of stakeholders 
•    A problem-solving approach, data-driven decision making and strong project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams
•    Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools
