About the Department

 

Invest India is the National Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. It hosts teams working with various government initiatives such as Make in India, Startup India, AGNii, and PMG.

The Specialist for the Entrepreneurship Project within the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative at Invest India, based in DPIIT New Delhi, focuses on enhancing entrepreneurship and innovation across India's districts. Responsibilities include executing the ODOP Entrepreneurship Fellowship Program, organizing training events, facilitating market access, promoting sustainable practices, and engaging with stakeholders to support a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem. The role seeks a proactive individual with a knack for coordinating multifaceted projects and a passion for economic development.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Program Implementation:
    • Developing & Coordinating the execution of the ODOP Entrepreneurship Fellowship Program detailed project plans and tracking progress.
    • Coordinating internal resources and third parties for the flawless execution of projects
    • Managing and mitigating risks to ensure on-time, within-scope and within budget delivery
    • Establishing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders
    • Creating and maintaining comprehensive project documentation
    • Reporting program status and escalating issues to upper management as needed
    • Reviewing project plans and directing changes if necessary

 

  • Capacity Building:
    • Implement a robust curriculum guiding participants through phases of ODOP entrepreneurship including business development, financial management and marketing procedures, including weekly meetings to encourage planning, analysis, reflection and to track progress

 

  • Market Access and Innovation:
    • Facilitate market access strategies and support innovation and product development through incubation centres.

 

  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Collaborate with central ministries, local governments, industry experts, and institutions to foster a supportive ecosystem for entrepreneurs.
    • In consultation with the Reporting Manager hold quarterly implementation meetings with partner institutions

 

  • Sustainability Initiatives:
    • Promote environmentally sustainable production practices and social entrepreneurship within the district's business community.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, entrepreneurship, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
  • 4-6 years of relevant experience, including direct experience working with government projects or initiatives focused on entrepreneurship, economic development, or related areas with a results-oriented approach to branding strategies.
  • Experience working with MSMEs/Startups/or on-ground working with Artisans/farmers is preferred.
