About the Department
Invest India is the National Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. It hosts teams working with various government initiatives such as Make in India, Startup India, AGNii, and PMG.
The IT Head will be responsible for Enterprise IT management and Client IT platforms development leadership. On Enterprise IT, the IT Head will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization's information technology infrastructure, including hardware, software, networks, platforms, portals, mobile applications and IT security. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to align IT strategies with the organization's business objectives. On Client IT Platforms development, the IT head shall lead a team of internal and external resources and partner/vendors to implement Ease of Doing Business platforms across multiple government and business workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop & Implement Company’s IT Strategy in alignment with overall business objectives.
- Oversees the management & maintenance of all the IT system including hardware, software, networks, platforms, portals, mobile applications and security.
- Ensure the security & integrity of IT systems & data through the implementation of best practices & security measures.
- Evaluate & recommend new technologies & solutions to enhance efficiency , productivity and innovation within the organization.
- Manage IT Budgets and resources efficiently to optimize cost and deliver value to the organization.
- Lead and manage a team of IT Professionals, including hiring , training & performance management.
- Collaborate with other departments to understand their technology needs and provide strategic guidance and support.
- Stay current with trends and developments in technology and IT management to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
- Develop in collaboration with clients, end user platforms for ease of doing business initiatives of the government and company.
- Lead the study, assessment and finalization of platform architecture and features for client facing platforms
- Evaluate and support the selection of suitable partners/vendors for implementation of the platforms
- Evaluate and select the right frameworks, tools and software/database architectures for the design and implementation of the platforms
- Setup and operationalize the effective management of the platform development and institute governance mechanisms
Qualifications
- Proven experience as IT head or similar role
- Minimum 18+ Years of experience working with IT Operations
- Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications.
- Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks, tools, applications database and storage system etc.
- Experience in controlling budget.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, team management and leadership skills
- BSc/BA/B.E/B.Tech in computer science, engineering, or relevant field; MBA or other management certifications will be a plus.
