About the Department

 

Invest India is the National Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. It hosts teams working with various government initiatives such as Make in India, Startup India, AGNii, and PMG.

Project Monitoring Group (PMG), Invest India is an institutional mechanism for facilitating timely completion of large-scale infrastructure projects. This is being facilitated through the two methods: resolution of issues being faced in projects and milestone based monitoring of projects. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multi-state, multi-sector portfolio of mega projects in India.
  • Develop and socialize dashboards, pre-defined and custom defined reports for Central and State departments and ministries to utilize for routine programme planning, decision making, monitoring and management.
  • Innovate new approaches for generating insights that can enable policy making.
  • Create periodic and automated analytics internally and for ministries to monitor the progress and streamline operations.
  • Support capacity building of officials on relevant competencies for sustained ownership and delivery.
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with the relevant state & central officials and project proponents.
  • Keep abreast with latest developments in the sector(s).
  • Assess best practices (global and domestic) which can be scaled up in the Indian context, develop business case for the same and present it to the senior leadership.

Qualifications

 

  • 0-2 years of full time work experience in strategy consulting, policy research, project implementation.
  • Ability to pivot and work on new aspects in short duration.
  • Ability to undertake data analysis (using pivots etc) and make graphs and build automated reports. SQL skills is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience working with senior bureaucrats is desirable.
